The Secret History
Donna Tartt
Very rarely do I not finish a book… and this is one.. I read the first 100 pages and decided it wasn’t worth reading. It takes place in a college in New England and chronicles the lives of a group of students in a Greek study.
They are an entity unto their own, stick together, live life together and there is some sort of underlying secret that holds them together.
And that is about as far as I got. I didn’t really like the writing style, I wasn’t thrilled with the way friendships were formed and just didn’t find it engaging. I love a book that I can’t put down and this wasn’t one of them. There are so many more that I want to read, that I decided I’d rather start something new.
So I’m sorry I don’t have more to say about this book, but I did get it, start it and subsequently put it down. Hopefully I didn’t disappoint.
If you’ve read it and have a different opinion I’d love to hear! Maybe it might be enough to convince me to try picking it up again another time!
