Christy Wilson

This book has some amazing stories!  I really enjoyed it a lot!  The author was a long time missionary in Afghanistan, pastor and teacher at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. This book is a compilation of stories from his extensive work.  It is amazing to see how God is at work changing peoples hearts and changing lives!

This man worked hard for many years and was able to see some fruit from his labor. He broke the book up into different chapters with stories falling under different topics.  My favorite section was about his personal remembrances of his past work while in Afghanistan.

One of my favorite and most amazing stories was when Christy was lost in an airplane over Afghanistan in 1955.  They were in a small plane with limited amount of gas and were lost!  They had to back track and start over the next day. It was neat to see how it was certainly God’s hand at work!  They arrived back to the original airport after dark and there was no lighting.  Planes didn’t fly after dark in this area!  God provided them safety in landing and in the completion of their flight the next day. You’ve got to read the story to see how it all played out!

This is a quick read and each section is only about 500-700 words, so it can be read in 5 minutes or so which is great with little kids running around with many possible interruptions!

I highly recommend this book!  If you’ve read it I’d love to know what you think!
