$2 for a can of organic coconut milk at wegmans; $1.50 and 10 minutes time to make it at home! I’m all about saving anywhere I can! Plus I know the only ingredients are coconut and water. I can be in control of what is added to it! I know there aren’t any extra ingredients or any preservatives, BPA due to packaging or anything else! Make your own Playdough!
This morning the boys wanted to play with playdough, but they quickly became bored with what they had! I decided to make them some new colors and they LOVED it! I also love it because I know what ingredients are in it and I know Koa is going to try and eat some of it! Don’t all kids do that? Or is it just mine! Continue reading “Make your own Playdough!”
Family cloth
Some may think it gross, but it actually works very well for our family! So what is it you say!?!?! An alternative to toilet paper! I use it exclusively, but the rest of the family, sparingly. However, I’m the only female (except for baby Aisling who is only 8 weeks so she only uses the cloth wipes!), so I obviously I would be the greatest offender! Continue reading “Family cloth”
Cloth Diapering 101
So…Diapers…. This is a topic near and dear to my heart for multiple reasons. I LOVE the fact that I just have to throw diapers in the laundry instead of running to Wal-Mart when I run out of clean ones to use. So much easier than running out at 10pm at night! I also really like the fact that we have much less diaper rash to deal with. I currently have an 8 week old and we are fighting diaper rash with her. I have been using disposable at night because she has been leaking through the current cloth diapers we have. I have been too lazy to wake up half way through the night just to change a diaper. Since we are co-sleeping I have but to roll over to nurse. Most amazing set-up in the world! Her rash completely clears up when I have her in 100% cloth. I just need to get back on my game! Laundry Detergent
We have been making our own detergent for the last year or more and it has really worked well for us. I do use some spot remover on chocolate, dirt stains, blood or other such things from having two young boys, but any food marks, oil, yogurt, etc, comes out without a mark. My boys don’t wear much white so I can’t really say how it does with that. I do wear white, though and I feel like they come out just fine! Continue reading “Laundry Detergent”
