Eczema… oh how I really really dislike that word! The photo with this post is of Xanthie’s legs about two years ago. It hurts me to look at that photo and remember how much pain she was in. That was an exceptionally bad breakout, but the story of her life nonetheless. Continue reading “Eczema”

Diaper Rash Revisited
Since this post in June 2013 I’ve added two more babies to the crew! I don’t have a ton of new things to add, but I had a few minor changes to make. And I wanted to repost is for those who hadn’t seen the original post! I hope it’s helpful! Continue reading “Diaper Rash Revisited”
Broccoli and Carrot Salad
A few days ago we needed a little something, preferably a green something added to dinner. This salad was created by adding a little of this and a little of that and it turned out quite nicely… in fact, it was even better the next night as the lime flavor marinate the veggies! Continue reading “Broccoli and Carrot Salad”
Stomach Aches
Stomach Aches revisited
This post was originally written in late 2011. As I was reviewing some of the older information on my blog I realized it needed some changing and I had more information and help to offer. I’ve grown a lot in my holistic treatment of “common” childhood illnesses and discomforts. So let me re-address this topic and hopefully provide more help! Continue reading “Stomach Aches”
Poke Bowl
I was recently introduced to this Hawaiian delicacy a few weeks ago. When Brian was serving up dinner and I knew it was raw tuna in a bowl with raw veggies, and I wasn’t too sure about it. I do love sushi, but something about it didn’t sound appealing that day. Continue reading “Poke Bowl”
Curried Lentils
I just found this! I wrote this about 4 years ago and somehow it never got posted! So I’m going to post it now! I do remember having these, actually! But now to make them again! Also the photo is actually from some lentil soup I made last night! I couldn’t find the original photo. So if you make it, it won’t look exactly like this!
This evening I was late starting dinner and even then I had no idea what I was going to make. I was feeling very uninspired. I found some sausages in the freezer that I pulled out and had some potatoes in the closet that I cut up into wedges and broiled… but what else to have. That was definitely not going to be enough for my famished boys. I had some salad ingredients, but we are having friends over for a salad bar on Wednesday and I kinda need it for that. Hmmmm Continue reading “Curried Lentils”
Baked Salmon with Spinach and Blue cheese with Lemon Sauce
Last week a dear friend and I got the rare (although would like for it to not be so rare!) opportunity to have a mama date and get dinner together! It’s amazing how much conversation can happen when kids aren’t running around under your feet! It was such a precious time to connect, share our hearts and encourage each other. I was SO grateful for the time! Continue reading “Baked Salmon with Spinach and Blue cheese with Lemon Sauce”
Paronychia
It’s been a while since I’ve had one of these infections. My daughter however, gets them way too often. She is a ‘picker’ and is always pulling off scabs, peeling fingernails and the list could go on! Continue reading “Paronychia”
Vaccinated vs Unvaccinated
Do I dare even open this can of worms? Why yes, I do!…
I will start off to say that we have chosen NOT to vaccinate our children. As the parents of the wonderful kids we’ve been given, we are given the right and privilege to care for them in the best way we know how. With our research, study, and prayer we have decided what we believe is best for OUR family. It is NOT my right or privilege to decide what is right for YOUR family. That is your right and responsibility! Continue reading “Vaccinated vs Unvaccinated”
Pork Tikka Masala
I know, I know. Chicken Tikka Masala is the dish… not pork. But I started making the dish and didn’t have chicken, but I did have pulled pork in the freezer! It had some liver mixed in, but no seasonings added… perfect. It made making this dish that much simpler. Continue reading “Pork Tikka Masala”
