Late last year I posted a series on how to find good deals to support and bless your family, especially when finances are tight. The purse strings are still pretty tight around here and as summer approaches I start to think about what curriculum I’m going to start accumulating for school next year. He has Risen – Happy Easter
Easter is so much more than cute bunnies, easter baskets, pastel colors, colored eggs, baby chicks, and lots of candy. Easter is about new life. Life that’s been given to us that we don’t deserve and that came at a great cost.
There is no way I could live with out sin. I go to bed each night VERY aware of how I’ve failed my family, been a poor example of Christ to my children and haven’t served my husband in the way I’ve been called. There is no hope for me, but in Christ. BUT CHIRST. Those words are huge. That is what makes me different.
I am nothing and can be nothing on my own… BUT Christ.
I AM a failure to my family… BUT Christ.
I’m a hopeless case… BUT Christ.
I’m not worthy of mercy and grace… BUT Christ.
I can’t pay my debts for all my sin… BUT Christ.
This list could go on and should go on. The more I realize my failures, the large Christ becomes. The larger my sin, the more I see my need for Him. Daily I need Christ. Daily His sacrifice is covering my sin.
I’m ever grateful and ever joyful for the gift that cost a life, that was freely given to me. that is a costly gift… I would never give the life of my son as a gift for another and yet that is exactly what God did for me in the life of His Son. My life has been changed by Him.
Here is a great video that is worth your time!
House Decor {Final Reveal}
So this is it!!! I’m finished! Finally! I’m so tickled and so pleased with each corner! I’m also happy that it’s still kid friendly. There isn’t anything (except my grandmother’s quilt on the corner of the couch) that isn’t off limits for them! And it was done on the cheap so I’m not attached to it and I can replace for cheap from the thrift store as need be!

Also, since this was so much fun and is so rewarding I thought I’d do it again… this time in the master bedroom… So… these design, painting and crafting posts will continue for a few more weeks as I add more projects to a new room!
There were two small last things to finish up. I had two more pillows to recover which I was able to find a dress (the orange and blue pillow) that had a broken shoulder strap and some scrap fabric at a clothing swap for free! So the recovering project only cost me in time! As an added bonus I think they look fantastic with the other colors and decor of the room. I’m pleased as punch!
The other last project were the china plates on the wall. Each of them I found at the thrift store and this was the most expensive part of the project. I think total it was $10 for the plates. I just bent some paperclips and used some crafting glue to attache them to the back of the plates for easy hangers. I think after looking at them for the last week I may want one more smallish plate for the top, but we shall see! So here are some photos of the final finished project!
Veggie Rogan Josh
The other night Brian and I went out on a date night for dinner! That hasn’t happened in quite a while. A dear friend kept our kiddos safe and happy while we enjoyed a rainy cold night together! Brian planned it all out and we tried out a new Indian restaurant called Punjabi Junction. Continue reading “Veggie Rogan Josh”
House Decor {Painting}
I think I mentioned in the past that I really hate painting… particularly walls, and trim, and doing the edging. I don’t like the mess, the fact that it takes two coats usually and I have to wait for the first one to dry, it’s never a one day project and the whole room is in disarray. Now, I do love the end product, but the process is painful for me! Continue reading “House Decor {Painting}”

House Decor {Design}
I’m going to attempt a mini series as I work on redoing our living room. It was originally designed when I moved in to this house before I was married and definitely before kids. It had more of a modern feel with red, gray, black and white being the main colors. It now seems way too formal and isn’t at all what I like anymore. I’m going to keep the furniture and the gray paint on the walls, but I’m ready for more color and more fun! Continue reading “House Decor {Design}”
Goals for 2014
Here is our new set of goals for the year… I guess they are really my goals, but some of them entail Brian too! I don’t have much to say about them in particular except that I’m excited to work on these things! Each one of them is special and will enrich our lives; me and that of my kids and husband. Goals Review from 2013
I know I’ve stated this before, but I don’t want to have new years resolutions… but goals yes! It’s good to aim for something lofty and attempt to reach it. But it shouldn’t be too easy to obtain! A resolution means it something you are going to do and fail if you don’t do it. A goal doesn’t set you up for failure, it’s just a way of trying to improve, do better, accomplish something or work towards something. Continue reading “Goals Review from 2013”
Kids Reading from 2013
As you can tell from my reading lists, current and past, reading is super important to us. Especially for the kids. Tonchi LOVES being read to and will often spend hours just looking at books! He is just starting to learn to read and picks out words here and there, but is usually content with just looking at the pictures.

I Pray You Have a Merry Christmas!
I pray each of you is having a special day with lots of fun and celebration and good food to eat!
I pray that you celebrate the birth of our Savior with much joy.
I pray that you don’t forget the reason for the day and remember His great gift of coming in human form to live a perfect life and be The Sacrifice to give us a new life!
I pray that as we give gifts and enjoy the day, that we may not forget the great gift that was given to us.
I pray that your heart is filled with joy and hope and peace in believing in our great Savior who has come like the dawn with redeeming grace.
I pray that you experience His love and care for you in a new way today and in this coming year.
I pray that as this year closes that you can see renewal, growth and a deeper relationship with Him than in previous years.
I pray that you know Him and His ways and that it CHANGES YOUR LIFE…. FOREVER!
I pray for you this Christmas.
I pray…
For unto us is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, Christ the Lord. Luke 2:11
