Plugged ducts and Mastitis

Here is another medical post I’ve been wanting to update. The original was in September 2013, and since I’ve been expanding my knowledge of homeopathics, essential oils and have been working in the birth world, I feel like I have much to add… so read on and hopefully you will find this info helpful!

So of course I had to jinx myself and mention plugged ducts and mastitis in my post on breastfeeding. All had been going well until a week ago. Continue reading “Plugged ducts and Mastitis”

Be Real, Be Genuine

Life is messy. I’m prideful. I want people to think I’m perfect, I have it all together and my house is always perfectly clean and organized! Is it true? Absolutely not! Why do I feel the need to put up a false front? I’m not being honest, I’m not being real. Honestly this is one of the reasons I don’t have a personal page on facebook. I know myself and posting photos of perfect family life and wonderful times with my kids is what I would post. Continue reading “Be Real, Be Genuine”

End of 2017/2018 School Year Review

We are finished! The year is done! It came much sooner that I expected! Usually I have a really hard time in March and April keeping on track and finishing our work. This year it was much better and the end of the year kinda snuck up on me! Continue reading “End of 2017/2018 School Year Review”

Poke Bowl

I was recently introduced to this Hawaiian delicacy a few weeks ago. When Brian was serving up dinner and I knew it was raw tuna in a bowl with raw veggies, and I wasn’t too sure about it. I do love sushi, but something about it didn’t sound appealing that day. Continue reading “Poke Bowl”

Another book done! I usually finish a book with mixed feelings! I’m glad I made it to the end and I’m ready for something different, but often I’m sad the story has ended, or the story hasn’t ended and I want to know more. Continue reading “Kidnapped by the Taliban”

Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day has come and gone a bit over a week ago. If you haven’t noticed, I didn’t post at all last week. The school year is coming to an end and we are making a big push to get our house on the market. I just haven’t had a spare moment to sit down and write a post. It’s been on my mind.. A lot has been on my mind to share, but it just hasn’t happened. Continue reading “Mother’s Day”

Constipation in Kids Revisited

I originally wrote this post back in 2012. Posts that old tend to get lost in the archives or forgotten about by long time readers, or new readers have never seen them. So I plan on bring back a few old posts that I think are worth looking at again. AND… I’ve grown over the last 6 years in medical knowledge and homeopathic and natural options. Some of these medical advice posts are still great, but I certainly have more to add, so read on! Continue reading “Constipation in Kids Revisited”

Curried Lentils

I just found this!  I wrote this about 4 years ago and somehow it never got posted! So I’m going to post it now!  I do remember having these, actually!  But now to make them again!  Also the photo is actually from some lentil soup I made last night!  I couldn’t find the original photo. So if you make it, it won’t look exactly like this!

This evening I was late starting dinner and even then I had no idea what I was going to make. I was feeling very uninspired. I found some sausages in the freezer that I pulled out and had some potatoes in the closet that I cut up into wedges and broiled… but what else to have. That was definitely not going to be enough for my famished boys. I had some salad ingredients, but we are having friends over for a salad bar on Wednesday and I kinda need it for that. Hmmmm Continue reading “Curried Lentils”

Book Review: {Charity and It’s Fruits}

Charity and It’s Fruits

By Jonathan Edwards

This post is a little bit a book review and a LOT about our culture and love. WOW! Big topic, I know. But something I feel very passionate about. I used to think loving people was easy and simple. It’s really not simple and it’s actually VERY difficult! Continue reading “Book Review: {Charity and It’s Fruits}”

Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease

I don’t remember ever getting this as a kid or any friends getting this, and yet now I feel like this has been a rite of passage for my kids generation. All of my children have had it and it continues to go around in our circles! Continue reading “Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease”
