Vaccinated vs Unvaccinated

Do I dare even open this can of worms? Why yes, I do!…

I will start off to say that we have chosen NOT to vaccinate our children. As the parents of the wonderful kids we’ve been given, we are given the right and privilege to care for them in the best way we know how. With our research, study, and prayer we have decided what we believe is best for OUR family. It is NOT my right or privilege to decide what is right for YOUR family. That is your right and responsibility! Continue reading “Vaccinated vs Unvaccinated”

Book Review: {The Book Thief}

The Book Thief

By, Markus Zusak

This book has been on my “Need to Read” list for probably two or three years.  I’ve always enjoyed historical fiction from WWII era. I knew I would like this book, but I also knew I was going to need to be ready for whatever this book held.  Somehow I knew it wasn’t going to be a light read. Book Review: {Far As the Curse Is Found}

Far as the Curse Is Found: Searching for God in Infertility, Miscarriage, and Stillbirth
Far As the Curse Is Found
Abigail Waldron

What a joy to read this book and to know this author. If you knew her, this book would mean so much more. She is kind, generous, loving, gracious, strong and also honest, humble, vulnerable and weak in this book. Continue reading “Book Review: {Far As the Curse Is Found}”

Pork Tikka Masala

I know, I know. Chicken Tikka Masala is the dish… not pork. But I started making the dish and didn’t have chicken, but I did have pulled pork in the freezer! It had some liver mixed in, but no seasonings added… perfect. It made making this dish that much simpler. Continue reading “Pork Tikka Masala”

Hind’s Feet on High Places: {Book Review}

Hind’s Feet on High Places
By, Hannah Hurnard

It took me almost a year to read this book. I only read a few pages each morning at the end of my devotions. It’s really an amazing allegory about the Christian life much like Pilgrim’s Progress. God really used this book to encourage me through difficult times and to let me know that He is working even though all of life felt senseless and pointless and meaningless. Continue reading “Hind’s Feet on High Places: {Book Review}”

I posted about changes in the recent past… and there were changes!!! LOTS of changes!!! But there are even more changes coming! Continue reading “Transitions!!!”

Dear Grieving Mother…

Dear grieving mother,

Oh mama, I’m so sorry. No mama should ever lose her baby. I lost my two baby boys at 20 weeks gestation, my friend lost her baby boy at 36 weeks gestation, and last week the niece of my dear friend unexpectedly died at 4 months. This should never happen. Continue reading “Dear Grieving Mother…”

Book Review: {Before Bethlehem}

Before Bethlehem

James J Fleglage

I just finished this book and it was perfect timing, just before Christmas.  It reminded me of “The Bronze Bow”.  I can’t say it was Biblically correct and there was certainly some creative license used. A super short summary would be exactly what the title states. Joseph’s life right up until the events in Bethlehem at the time of Jesus’ birth. Continue reading “Book Review: {Before Bethlehem}”

The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency

By, Alexander McCall Smith

I feel like I start all of my blog posts about book reviews the same way: “This was a really good read!” Apparently I just like to read. Continue reading “Book Review: {The No.1 Ladies’ Detective Agency}”
