This is an old post… that never got posted. I wrote it when I was pregnant with Avi… it’s crazy to think that was about two years ago. When I found it this afternoon I was going to rewrite the whole thing and only keep the recipe. But I wrote it then, and it brought back some memories that have faded. I had forgotten that I was craving carbs with him and I didn’t remember this was a fix for me! So I left it the way it was originally written…. read, taste and enjoy! Turkey Day Food
I couldn’t post this on Thursday or before since I hadn’t made it and didn’t know exactly what I was going to make too far in advance! However… The food was delicious even though I was only responsible for 3 different sides! Thanksgiving foods tend to be traditional in that families have their tried and true…. but these recipes are still great foods for any day of the week or for Christmas which will be here before we know it! Continue reading “Turkey Day Food”
Raw Peppermint Brownie Cookies
We didn’t have a CSA delivery last week because of the Labor Day Weekend. So I wondered what I was going to post since we didn’t get our weekly delivery of fresh veggies! I figured I should do something about food and good food at that! Usually Tuesday is my recipe day, but I haven’t written any new recipes lately. Continue reading “Raw Peppermint Brownie Cookies”
Xanthie’s Birthday
My baby girl turned 1 last week! It’s gone by so fast. I feel like it was just yesterday that I was posting her birth story! She has been such a treasure and such an easy baby. She is so happy and easy going.. but I guess she has to be with 3 older siblings picking her up, pulling on her and trying to kiss her cheeks! She adores them! Continue reading “Xanthie’s Birthday”
Paleo Butternut Squash Dessert
One of the few last posts with veggies from our CSA! Continue reading “Paleo Butternut Squash Dessert”
Apple Date Dip
Eggplant and zucchini season have about passed, and we are also coming to the end of the apple season… however, I still have a bushel of apples sitting on my counter! I’ve already made some apple butter (I’ll post about that soon) and a little bit of applesauce and now I’m working on dried apples. Continue reading “Apple Date Dip”
Jello
Recently I’ve been itching to purchase some [amazon_link id=”B001ELLBJS” target=”_blank” container=”” container_class=”” ]Great Lakes Grass Fed Beef Gelatin[/amazon_link] because of all the health benefits (post on this coming soon) it offers and for it’s many uses. I’ve especially been wanting to make some marshmallows for the kids to enjoy over a campfire and not worry about the high fructose corn syrup and food coloring in them (yes… even though they are white, they still have dyes!) So hopefully I’ll have a recipe to post on that as well before too long… but first off I started with Jello. Continue reading “Jello”
Almond Milk Shakes
Thankfully it’s warming up here in the DC metro area! I LOVE summer and warm weather! I really enjoy all things summer, no school, pool time, bright sunshine, lots of outside activities, letting kids run and yell outside as much as they want, planting gardens, eating fresh produce and my list could go on forever I feel! Continue reading “Almond Milk Shakes”
Paleo Grasshopper Pie
I was craving mint and ice cream and all things sweet on Sunday and it was driving me crazy! Brian was so kind to offer to go out and get ice cream for his prego wife… however, I’m not supposed to be eating too much dairy and the kids can’t have it at all. It made me feel guilty just thinking about having something that I can’t share with the kiddos. Continue reading “Paleo Grasshopper Pie”
Grain-free, Egg-free, Dairy-free Paleo Gingerbread
For some reason I’ve been craving gingerbread even though it’s spring and no where near gingerbread season.. .if there is such a thing! I was on a hunt for a good recipe. I wanted something a little sweet and a little spicy! Continue reading “Grain-free, Egg-free, Dairy-free Paleo Gingerbread”
